about

A musical reflection on the whereabouts of my grandparents who have passed away. Where are they? Can they hear me? Can they see me?

"Memories cascade like bittersweet rain,
Remnants of what will never be the same.
The weight of absence, a heavy shroud,
Leaves hearts shattered, silenced and bowed.
"The darker the night, the brighter the stars, the deeper the grief, the closer is God!"

"In these quiet hours, I'll find my way,
Through thoughts and words that gently sway.
And when the dawn unveils its light,
I'll greet the day, having conquered the night..."

!This music is best listened to on good headphones!

Dedicated to Jozef Tkáč and Marta Tkáčová.

SLOVAK

"Pozostatky toho, čo už nikdy nebude také ako predtým.
Ťarcha neprítomnosti, ťažký plášť,
zanecháva srdcia roztrieštené, umlčané a sklonené.
"Čím tmavšia noc, čím jasnejšie hviezdy, čím hlbší smútok, tým bližšie je Boh!"

"V týchto tichých hodinách nájdem svoju cestu,
Cez myšlienky a slová, ktoré sa jemne kolíšu.
A keď svitanie odhalí svoje svetlo,
privítam deň, keď zvíťazím nad nocou..."

about

David Kollar Prešovský kraj, Slovakia

Kollar treats his music with a deep degree of seriousness and personal involvement, as if each and every one of his projects was not only his proverbial brain child but as if it was his actual offspring. He treats his instrument as a gateway between his complex ideas and their audible representation, the same way a sculptor treats the chisel or a painter the brush."
